The company was founded in 1989 by the late Jeremiah M. Long, the “guru” of IRC §1031 exchanges. In 1992, Jerry and Mary Foster co-authored Tax-Free Exchanges Under §1031, the most comprehensive book on the subject. This work, published by Thomson Reuters/West Publishing, has become the leading treatise and the “Bible” on tax-free exchanges. It contains almost 800 pages. Mary Foster continues writing the annual update of the treatise.

Our company has a reputation for providing the highest levels of expertise, professionalism, and customer service for our clients. In addition, beginning in 1996, our company has co-sponsored an annual, national two-day seminar on advanced issues in like-kind exchanges. Mary Foster has been a speaker at the conference since its inception. She has been co-chair since 2004 and the seminar has expanded to a three-day, comprehensive conference. Mary Foster has also been instrumental in the growth of the national organization known as the Federation of Exchange Accommodators (FEA). She is Past President and former Board Member of the FEA. She advises on complex tax free exchanges, has acted as an expert witness on litigation involving IRC §1031 matters, and frequently writes and speaks on the subject. She is active in federal legislative and administrative efforts related to IRC §1031 on behalf of the American Bar Association Taxation Section and the FEA.

We have participated in exchanges of all types of real properties. Prior to 1/1/18, we worked on exchanges of artwork, airplanes, equipment, shipping vessels, businesses, licenses, and radio and television stations.
